I just finished reading a real life story of a little girl who struggled to survive in life from the causes of her sadistic father-- "I forgive you, Daddy" by Lizzie Mc Glynn.
As young as 6 years old she had to take the role of a daughter, mother, sister and wife.
Her parents were often insanely drunk and seem to lost their senses. Her father was brutally abusive and she and her 5 other siblings often reluctantly received severe beatings that on some occassions caused them near to death circumstances. It seemed to go on a daily basis and they were just so young and innocent to know what is really happening.
One night, while Lizzie was about to sleep, she heard her door opened softly and the next thing she knew was her father crawling underneath her, and that was another great trauma she had in her life. This went on insanely for yearsssss and nobody seem to notice about it, despite her strange behavior in school, their bruises, internal organ & ribs damaged due to the violence ... ... ...
Most of all, her spirit was crushed. At an age where she needed love most, while receiving all these horrifying treatments was an experience that I just couldnt imagine myself.
It took me just a few hours to finish this book because i was so intrigued by how she managed to survived along the darkness, despite of what life throws at her, she was still able to have hope and faith to keep going and believing that she still has a life to live. A meaningful life, as long as she doesnt give up. There will be.
~My God~
Her story just gave me a really big smack on my head! *SMACK*
Again i started to question and reflect on myself that, what else more can i ask for..? for what i have already have in life. It is a great reminder for me if i ever do complain and resent anything in life. For whatever will happen, is really nothing compared to what Lizzie or so many other people who have gone through with those constant nightmares that will haunt them for the rest of their lives.
*Crying out loud*
It's just insane!
I do appreciate the little and simple things in life and her story will always remain deep in my heart. I totally salute all the strong spirits out there, who when life seem to be all dark for them where they do not have the choice, still they are able to see the light shining battling with all theri might just t reach for it.
and that's a great respect i have for them with the message that i received:
"Although we cant choose our external circumstances,
but what can be changed is internally within us"
Amazing souls!!!
